The technical success of a brake dust particle filter as a retrofit solution for emission control strongly depends on how key parameters of the complex brake system are affected, e.g. most prominent the temperature change. ZF will ensure that all aspects are considered by taking their brake system as an example for demonstration. To verify the durability, the brake will be installed on a commercial vehicle and be run on 3 official road test tracks in real driving (weather, gradient) on circuits around Würzburg, Merklingen and Saarbrücken. In these 3 courses, the test bench tests are verified with real weather conditions with up to 5,000 km in total over 3 weeks.
